TEKNO Monkey

TEKNO Monkey (real name Jay Middleton), Is an individual who dares to be different. An evolution from the VaderMonkey alias, originally adopted from a Facebook group that was part of the UK Rave community; of which he was a member. He has become a new musical entity, with a revitalized sense of direction in his music.

Over the period of over 20+ years. The education & evolution from an inhabitant of the dance floor to a diverse high velocity DJ/Producer, has taken many turns. A brief period from 2009 – 2012 was previously, an insight into the conduction of Techno driven music. Highly influenced by the European underground Techno scene, TEKNO Monkey integrates such influences with his sound. His love of Techno was born from the mid 2000’s German Techno scene, driven by dark impactive kicks and low resonated complimentary bass.

Whilst moving into a current era of the sound he discovered Schranz, a then very niche underground sound driven by filtered percussive drum patterns programmed at high velocity. His curiosity took hold, but his perception of the UK dancefloors didn’t meet his love for the sound, so he put his techno interests on hold to pursue other genres (a decision driven by opportunities elsewhere in the UK Rave scene).

10 years pass by and rediscovery sets about a change in path, after an opportunity to play his sound again during the summer of 2024. The Techno feeling was back and TEKNO Monkey returned.

The TEKNO Monkey alias embraces everything from the grittiness and industrial perceptions often associated with dark underground techno music but adds hints of neon color to express fun and clarity to his DJ performances.
TEKNO Monkey is an energetic and interactive performer; often lost in the music and the moment, but content with conducting his perception of dance floor mayhem.

Expect new music from TEKNO Monkey to be circulating soon, as his decision to truly follow his path in the music he cherishes dearly will set about a new chapter in his musical journey.
