Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 7 August 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to DJ.COMMUNITY ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Platform includes:

  • Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and demographic information, that you voluntarily give to us when you register with the Platform.
  • DJ Profile Information: If you create a DJ profile, we collect additional information you provide, such as your stage name, bio, location, genres, rates, and links to social media or music profiles.
  • Usage Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Platform, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Platform.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Platform and hold certain information. For more details, please see our Cookie Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Platform to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Facilitate communication between users (e.g., DJs and clients for bookings).
  • Operate and improve our Platform, including monitoring usage and analyzing trends.
  • Provide and deliver the services you request, process transactions, and send you related information.
  • Prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity.
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and provide customer service.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:

  • With Your Consent: We may share your information with your consent or at your direction.
  • By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
  • Service Providers: We share information with the providers listed in section 5 below, each only to the extent needed to run the service they provide.
  • Publicly Visible Information: Your DJ profile, forum posts, and blog posts are visible to the public.

5. Who Processes Your Data

Running this platform means a small number of companies handle data on our behalf. These are all of them:

  • Floot — hosting and application infrastructure. Handles every request you make to this site.
  • Neon — the database where accounts, profiles and posts are stored.
  • Cloudinary — image hosting and delivery for avatars, banners and photos.
  • Resend — sends the emails you receive from us, and therefore holds your email address.
  • OneSignal — delivers push notifications, but only to browsers that have opted in.
  • Bunny Fonts — serves the typefaces. Chosen over Google Fonts specifically because it does not log IP addresses or set cookies.
  • Ko-fi — processes donations, if you choose to make one. We never see your payment details.

Embedded mixes are loaded directly from SoundCloud, YouTube, Mixcloud, Vimeo or Dailymotion when you play them. Those platforms receive your IP address at that moment and apply their own privacy policies. Nothing is loaded from them until you press play.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics services, or third-party trackers of any kind.

6. How Long We Keep Things

  • Your account and profile: kept until you delete them.
  • Records of who viewed a profile: 400 days.
  • Moderation and account decision logs: 1 year.
  • Checks on whether a mix link still plays: 90 days.
  • Failed login attempts: 30 days.
  • Email verification links, after they expire: 30 days.
  • Expired sessions: 7 days.
  • Rate limiting records: 7 days.

Deletion of expired records runs automatically every night.

7. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

8. Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the following rights over your personal data. We apply them to everyone, wherever you live:

  • Access: The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: The right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: The right to have your personal data erased. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts and personal details.
  • Data Portability: The right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Objection and Restriction: The right to object to how we process your data, or ask us to limit it.
  • Complaint: The right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. We answer within 30 days.

Legal basis: we process your data to perform the contract you enter into by creating an account, to meet our legal obligations, and — for keeping the platform secure and free of abuse — on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a service that works.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
